Free Firearms Safety Courses for Members’ Immediate Family

As announced at the club meeting on 29 January 2026, and in response to recent changes to firearms legislation, the Illawarra Hunting Club is introducing an initiative to support members and their families in remaining compliant and properly licensed.

The Club will offer free firearms safety courses to immediate family members who reside in the same household as a member who was financial as of 29 January 2026.

To be eligible for the free course:
• The primary member must have been a financial club member on 29 January 2026
• Family members must live in the same household
• Family members must become club members in the appropriate membership category (Child, Adult or Pensioner) prior to attending the course.

This ensures all participants are properly recorded, meet membership and compliance requirements, and reduces administrative burden on both the Club and members going forward.

To arrange testing, please book a spot through Member Jungle. Once bookings are received, we will endeavour to schedule and complete testing as quickly as possible.

This initiative is designed to assist families in meeting legislative requirements while promoting safe and responsible firearms ownership.

If you have any questions, please contact the club committee.
