The Illawarra Hunting Clubs June meeting was another standout evening, bringing together over 60 passionate members and newcomers at the Towradgi Beach Hotel.

We were privileged to host Mick and Nathan from South Coast Taxidermy (https://www.facebook.com/SouthCoastTaxidermy/) as our guest speakers. The duo delivered a fascinating and informative presentation that had the room fully engaged from start to finish. Covering the intricate art and science behind professional taxidermy, they shared insights into the preparation, preservation, and craftsmanship required to honour game animals with quality mounts that last a lifetime.

In addition to their taxidermy expertise, Mick and Nathan gave a compelling overview of their guided hunting services across the globe, offering club members a glimpse into what it takes to hunt internationally. From black bear in North America to exotic game in Africa, their experiences sparked plenty of questions amongst the crowd.

We also extend a massive thank you to Mick and Nathan for remaining proud sponsors of the club and for generously contributing their taxidermy services as part of the Red Hunt prize currently being raffled. Your support adds real value to our club community and we’re incredibly grateful.

The atmosphere on the night was lively, with plenty of laughs, questions, and great conversation shared over food and drinks. A big thank you as always to Towradgi Beach Hotel for their ongoing support and hospitality.

The prize is an exclusive guided hunt, from April 10th–13th, 2026, with accommodation, a professional guide, and taxidermy included. The more tickets you buy, the more chance you have to win this prize, celebrating our 10-year anniversary.

Illawarra Hunting Club – AGM This Friday!
