Some of you may have noticed recent changes to our membership payment methods, and we would like to explain why these updates have been introduced. We have identified a growing number of memberships lapsing due to missed renewal payments. This can have serious consequences. For many members, club membership forms part of their genuine reason for holding a firearms license. If your membership lapses, this may place your license status and lawful firearms ownership at risk. As a reminder, members who hold an R License must maintain a current and valid membership with an Approved Hunting Organisation. If your club membership lapses, your R License is no longer valid. To help protect our members and prevent unintentional lapses, we have now activated an automatic annual renewal payment system. This will come into effect from the next time you renew your club membership. Your membership will then continue each year provided your card details remain current and valid. This change is designed to reduce the risk of administrative oversights that could affect your compliance. In the current environment of increasing scrutiny on licensed firearms owners, maintaining continuous and compliant membership is more important than ever. We also anticipate that in the future the registry may move toward more direct or live verification of membership status. Ensuring your membership does not lapse helps safeguard your genuine reason and your standing as a licensed firearms owner. Please take a moment to ensure your payment details are up to date.
